Custom Platform for Safe Turbine Manufacturing

Description:

Efficiency in large scale manufacturing for industrial power generation is key to reducing operational cost. Unified Engineering designs and manufactures our universal turbine assembly platform as a steel, custom platform for safe turbine manufacturing. This manufacturing access platform accommodates six different gas turbine designs for production with the use of in-fill panels when not in operation. We analyze requirements of the assembly process, perform design and structural engineering and follow through with fabrication and installation.  

Highlights:

• Work access platform designed for manufacturability, fit for purpose and optimized for a wide range of turbine designs. 
• Removable floor support members, hinged floor plates, kickplates, removable handrails, and stairwell. 
• Manufacturing platform assembly designed to be fit inside multiple 40-foot containers to be transported via sea to Damman, Saudi Arabia. 
• Selected local trades and supervised the installation process. 

How it Works:

In this design, all turbine combinations needed to have in-fill panels designed for ease of storage in ensuring assembly is done safely and efficiently for a range of turbines. The modified work platform allows workers to assemble the gas turbines with floor-level access and access to the split joint of the turbine from the top of the structure. Welding is done per CSA W47.1 and W59 standards.
