The Challenge:
Efficiency in large-scale manufacturing for industrial power generation is essential to reducing operational costs and meeting production demands. Turbine assembly requires a versatile and safe work platform that can accommodate multiple gas turbine designs while ensuring optimal access for workers. The challenge was to create a durable, adaptable platform that could handle the varying requirements of six different turbine models, maintain safety standards, and be transportable for international installation.

The Solution:
Unified Engineering designed and manufactured a universal turbine assembly platform tailored for safe and efficient turbine manufacturing. The platform accommodates six gas turbine designs using custom in-fill panels for versatility and efficiency. Features such as removable floor support members, hinged floor plates, kickplates, removable handrails, and stairwells enhance usability and safety. Designed for manufacturability, the platform was fabricated to fit inside multiple 40-foot containers for transport to Damman, Saudi Arabia. Unified Engineering also selected local trades and supervised the platform’s successful installation on-site.
